Shenzhen

I pretty much only update this thing a few times a year but it’s worth mentioning that I’m now living in Shenzhen, China. Here are some fun photoshops.

Studioark Amanacliq Group Show

Recently had some work on display at some thing in some place. The name was Amanacliq 2017, was pretty cool and here are some photos of my stuff there. You can find out more about Studioark Shanghai or read more about the event here.

Photo Studio Painted Backdrop

I painted a huge backdrop for a photo shoot at central studios recently, it was about 3 meters by 3 meters. Here's the mock-up next to the finished product.

Murals for a Coffee Supply Store

The mock ups next to the finished pieces, some were slightly changed... turns out yellow doesn't show up well against a gray background. Oh and the pizza man got nixed.

POR-NO group show November 11

Friday, November 11 I'll be participating in a group show called POR-NO. Here's the flyer, along with one of my pieces for the show.

Portrait A Day Project 2016

I started doing a portrait a day on September 28th. Here are some of the first batch.

Silk Initiative Office Paintings

I recently found out about a small company called the Silk Initiative. They are a really interesting business that helps brands (especially food and beverage brands) communicate their messages and sell their products in China. Their office is an incredibly cozy little space tucked away in a residential area somewhere along the fringe of Jingan. I was lucky enough to get connected with them through a friend of a friend and paint their logo, as well as their Chinese characters on the wall.

Street people charity pieces

Occasionally someone will ask me to make some art (or offer up some old work) for a charity event. These range from the discombobulated, unorganized house-party vibe events, up to the gala ball-esq looking ones and everything in between. Either way though it's a good cause (unless I'm somehow being swindled). I was recently asked to make a few pieces with 'Shanghai' loosely offered up as the theme. Here's what I came up with.

Mao Illustrations for a Freelance Project

I did some Mao illustrations for a group art show. No printer in Shanghai would print them though so I couldn't take part in the show. People are still a little edgy about using Mao's image in China.
